Sol: a late spring siesta
— a day where you’re invited to slow, soften and be
In an increasingly distracted and disconnected world, where perpetual productivity and pushing through is rewarded, this is your reminder (and invitation) to take a precious pause— unplug from the noise and reconnect to you.
you are invited to
Sol: a late spring siesta
A delicious day retreat— infused with the slower rhythm of countryside Spain (inspired by recent travels)— to rest, receive, replenish and reconnect to yourself, in the peaceful hills of Byron Bay.
Sunday 30th November
11 - 6pm (AEDT)
Brooklet, Byron Hinterland
Slow down, soften and be.
Time in nature, warm sunshine, siesta’s, self care, tapas, long lunch, lazing by the pool, gentle wanders and golden sunset vibes.
This is your day to;
Rest without apology.
Exhale and breathe deeper.
Savour and share delicious, nourishing and lovingly made food.
Soften into the warmth and energy of late spring.
Enjoy going at a slower pace.
Soak up the sunset goodness of golden hour.
Replenish your body and mind.
Reconnect to yourself.
Take a precious pause.
A day where you are held, not hurried.
If you feel like you’re just managing to hold it all together, or you spend most of your days rushing from one-thing-to-the-next, or you feel there’s never enough time for you (to simply be), or you need to escape your life (for a day)— Sol is for you.
permission to pause
A little more about Sol.
Yes, it’s a day retreat. But not typical. It’s an experience, best felt, rather than explained— although I’ll do my best for you here. (You can also scroll to the bottom of the page to read what previous retreat guests have said.)
Like my previous Being day retreats, Sol, is borne from the idea of gathering in person with a small group of women, to experience and enjoy a day of simple goodness— intentional yet gentle practices, delicious food, heartfelt connection— and the moments in-between. This time, it’s with a Spanish flavour.
It’s a day about BEING, not doing.
Intentionally slow and spacious, Sol will instinctively have you moving at slower rhythm, allowing your body (and inner world) to recalibrate. There is no jam packed itinerary, or deep transformational healing work to be done. But that being said, our bodies and nervous system’s heal and respond best when we go more gently, so if you’ve been doing all-of-the-things to heal something, or a lot of transformative work this day is a beautiful way to allow things to integrate. And if you feel like you may be on the brink of burnout, then this is a wonderful starting point to begin tending to yourself with gentle care.
Release the exhale (you’ve been holding) and breathe deeply again.
Sol, is a day and space is where you can give yourself full permission to pause— exhale, breathe deeper and feel your body softening— perhaps even hearing her sigh in thanks, whispering ‘thank you, I’ve needed this, so very much”.
A small and intimate group.
With only 10 spaces available there is a welcoming sense of ease, spaciousness and connection, right from the beginning— naturally inviting you into a slower and gentler pace for the day.
Time and space to truly be.
Nowhere else to be and no-one asking anything from you, other than to be— receiving some of the love, care, nourishment and nurturing that you’re always giving to others.
Why go slow?
We live in a world that has us constantly rushing, being busy and/or chasing the next goal, which often has us missing the goodness and glimmers and joy’s that are right in front of us. And slowing down allows that— bringing our bodies and hearts back into coherence. Chasing or rushing to rewiring or soothe ourselves only results in more tension—first, we need to slow and give ourselves space (and grace). Slow and steady is the key.
Sol will soothe your soul, delight your senses, and nourish your whole being— physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically— in the most subtle of ways. Leaving you feeling rested, renewed, restored, lighter, deeply nourished, and more connected to you.
Lastly, I think Sol is a wonderful way (and perfectly timed), to ground and replenish yourself, just before the bustling festive season.
If you have been yearning to;
tend to your tired, frayed self or jangled nervous system
take time-out from the noise, the distractions, the constant juggling, the endless doing and to-do lists, the rushing, the always being ON, etc, etc..
rest and be deeply cared for
reconnect to your breath, body, heart and soul
nourish your whole being— physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically
feel a sense of spaciousness and ease in your body
invite more gentleness (and kindness) into your life
find a slower rhythm for your life
then this day is for you.
Sol, is the exhale you have been dreaming of and longing for.
A little glimpse into your day.
Without giving too much away because sweet surprises are always lovely to receive— this is how your day may unfold (subject to change).
A mid-morning start— for ease and spaciousness from the get-go
Welcome hugs and light refreshments
Grounding tea ceremony— to anchor into the energy of the day
Gentle movement & stillness— mindful movement, tai chi, yin and restorative yoga, soothing breath-work, guided meditation, deep rest (it may be some or all of these)
A long, lingering tapas-style lunch— seasonal, local and delicious
Quiet siesta time— nap under a tree or by the pool, wander, or simply be
A nurturing self-care ritual
Sunset sound and reiki healing
Afternoon apéritifs with a glass of bubbles (cava or kombucha)
Farewell hugs and gift to carry the nourishment home with you
Sol is intentionally designed for you to be able to immerse into a slower pace and savour the day— filled with delights, not demands.
So often we get busy creating a life, that we forget to live it. Slowing down, reminds us what matters.
